The Red Door is a worker-centered un-conference rooted in rest, pleasure, imagination and collective care. Based at a 10-acre farm just outside Atlanta, we bring together workers, content creators, artists, healers, organizers, and community builders to step outside the urgency of life and make room for restoration & radical daydreaming.
The Red Door came from an actual dream in 2025. A group of attendees at a conference decided to rebel and start their own gathering, making new rules as they went and questioning what a conference was supposed to feel like in the first place.
That dream left behind a question that would not leave us alone: What becomes possible when workers and the communities around us have enough room to decide for ourselves how we want to gather?
The Red Door grew from that question into a Black queer and worker-led community practice rooted in rest, collective care, cultural work and political imagination. It creates space for workers and community to spend time together beyond the constant demands of crisis, advocacy, productivity and survival, with room for pleasure, grief, food, art, land, conversation, experimentation and the ideas people bring with them.
Rest & Radical Daydreaming is one expression of that practice. Rest creates room to imagine. Daydreaming gives an idea somewhere to begin. Making art, getting weird, playing, learning something with your hands, sharing a meal or following a conversation somewhere unexpected can all become ways of asking what else is possible for our lives and communities.
The Red Door continues to grow through practice: through gatherings, land stewardship, cultural work, relationships, shared knowledge and the things community creates together. Each experience teaches us something about what people need, what they want to build and what becomes possible when there is enough time and space to hear ourselves and one another.
The dream started with rebelling against a conference. The Red Door is becoming something much bigger: a place to practice the worlds workers are already imagining.
ABOUT
TICKET ACCESSIBILITY
We know that not everyone in our community has the same access to technology, banking, apps, or payment platforms. Some of our workers do not have phones that can download the POSH app, and we do not want the way we sell tickets to become a barrier to entering The Red Door. That’s why we created two ways to purchase your ticket:
PURCHASE THROUGH POSH
Register and purchase your ticket through our POSH event page. This option is available for folks who already use POSH or prefer purchasing through the platform.
PURCHASE DIRECTLY THROUGH THE RED DOOR WEBSITE
You can also purchase your ticket directly from our website. No POSH app is required.
Both options register you for The Red Door. Choose the one that works best for you.
We are continuing to think through accessibility as we build, including how we communicate with attendees and make important information available without requiring everyone to use the same apps or technology.
WHY AN UNCONFERENCE?
We chose an un-conference because we are tired of consistent threat of the “sense of urgency”. We are tired of spaces that invite marginalized people in only to turn our lives into content, testimony, data, education, spectacle or proof of somebody else’s politics. We are tired of being watched, documented, studied, measured and surveilled while being told that visibility is the same thing as care.
An UNCONFERENCE gives us a form loose enough to practice something different.
There are Anchor Workshops, Services, Offerings, meals, music, spaces to rest and things happening across the land, but the gathering is allowed to move because the people inside it are alive.
Through the Session Marketplace, where attendees create the conference schedule, a conversation can become a session and somebody can teach what they know.
The structure holds us without swallowing us.
It leaves room for privacy, consent, disappearance, pleasure, curiosity and the right to decide how much of yourself you want to give.
The people who come through The Red Door help determine what The Red Door becomes.

We want to honor Victoria Von Blaque, whose leadership through TransEquity continues to move resources directly into the hands of Black trans and gender-expansive communities. Her work is rooted in equity, access, and real, lived support.
We’re also held by Black Too Earth, our fiscal home, led by founder & CEO Michela Williams. Michela’s journey back to the land is ancestral and began as a confrontation with fear. That grew into a movement reconnecting Black communities to nature, land stewardship, and each other.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
LAND STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM
The Red Door Land Stewardship Program invites our community to care for the land as an extension of caring for one another. Throughout the months leading up to the conference, volunteers, artists, workers, and neighbors gather to cultivate and prepare Wild Rest Farm together. We plant gardens, build gathering spaces, create art, repair what needs love, and leave the land healthier than we found it.
This work reflects our belief that stewardship is a collective practice. By putting our hands in the soil, we create a living space where healing, creativity, and community can take root long before the first attendee arrives.
